About the role
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Independently owned business. Tasks: Design dental devices. Modify dental devices including full or partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps and bands. Prepare plaster models and moulds. Train other dental technicians. Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Finish metal framework of dentures. Supervise students in training.
