As a Geospatial Technician, you'll play a key role in transforming drone imagery and sensor data into high-quality digital products that power our AI models and support engineering decisions. Working closely with our Data Collection, Machine Learning, and Product teams, you'll help create accurate geospatial datasets, 3D models, and ortho-imagery that enable safer infrastructure inspections around the world.

About the role The Geospatial Technician's primary responsibility is to create high-resolution ortho-imagery for our Machine Learning team’s analysis. Additionally, this role oversees data quality, organization, and processing. Collaborating closely with all production teams, the Geospatial Technician ensures adherence to our data standards and contributes to the continuous improvement of our processes and best practices for Geospatial data management.
Background As a Geospatial Technician, it is paramount to have a solid foundation in geospatial data management, analysis, and processing, as well as a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset. Proficiency in CAD and GIS software is crucial for navigating complex geospatial data and collaborating effectively with colleagues. An understanding of 3D data is essential for ensuring the highest quality of data collection and processing.
Excellent communication skills are vital for working with cross-functional teams and discussing project requirements. Attention to detail and adherence to standardized processes are important skills that enable the person in this role to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering quality results on time.

Responsibilities Create ortho-imagery using Bentley's Descartes. Ensure exceptional product quality while meeting production timelines. Collaborate with internal teams to aid in the development of equipment and software. Produce 3D photogrammetric models of structures using Bentley's iTwin and Agisoft Metashape. Integrating datasets from our proprietary sensors. Documenting and maintaining data organization standards. Required Qualifications Degree/diploma in geography, computer science, resource management, or a related field. Demonstrated enthusiasm, perseverance, and energy. Ability to balance and prioritize responsibilities. Willingness to work independently and be a self-starter, and able to effectively collaborate with internal and external teams. Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills. 2+ years of experience capturing, converting, creating, editing, and maintaining geospatial datasets in a CAD or GIS environment. Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience: Experience creating, managing, and using geodatabases. Deep knowledge and experience working with CAD software, particularly with Agisoft’s Metashape and Bentley products (e.g., Descartes, iTwin). 3D photogrammetric modeling and/or LiDAR data processing. Open-source GIS tools and scripting (e.g., QGIS, GDAL, PDAL, R). Automating workflows and developing geospatial tools using Python. UAV-based infrastructure inspections, or experience working in a civil engineering environment. Experience in generating orthoimagery.
