Studio Overview

Little Blackstone Studios is an Emmy-nominated and Oscar Shortlisted animation studio that has been producing award worthy animation since 2009.

The Role

We are looking for 2D Layout Artists with experience working on animated series , or films, to join the team of our newest show. The show is a brand new original adult animated comedy series, which deals with the always relatable themes of growing up and finding your place in the world, but told from an incredibly wacky and zany perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• This role requires a skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of 2D layout design and scene composition.
• Ability to contribute their creative vision, all the while maintaining the overall quality, style, and consistency of the layouts.
• Collaborate with the supervisor and fellow artists to understand and interpret the project's creative vision and requirements.
• Ability to apply feedback throughout the layout production process.
• Collaborate with the directors and supervisor to translate the storyboards into layouts.
• Adhere to the production guidelines regarding file types and sizes.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience (2+ years) working in 2D layout for animation with a good track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong grasp of PSD
• In-depth knowledge of composition, with the ability to effectively translate the director's vision into compelling layout sequences.
• Strong understanding of storytelling and narrative structure, with the ability to visually convey mood, gag, and emotion through layout design
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work within designated timeframes. Strong time-management skills.
