About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Outdoors. Tasks: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Prepare wall and ceiling layouts. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Employment terms options: Evening. Morning. Day. Weekend. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
