About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Service Technician to join our team at GE Vernova. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our equipment through comprehensive maintenance, repair, and service activities on client sites. The Service Technician will be responsible for executing a variety of operational and technical tasks, including preventive and corrective maintenance, onsite repairs, and diagnostics. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background who are eager to develop their expertise further and contribute to the success of our service operations. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and clients.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a foundational level of technical knowledge relevant to the role, with educational qualifications aligned to industry standards. For roles outside the United States, a degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Candidates within the United States should have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by at least two years of experience in a technical or maintenance capacity. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work autonomously are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements.

Responsibilities

Perform onsite maintenance, repairs, and service activities related to equipment inspection, including machining, nondestructive testing, blade repairs, winding repairs, critical welding, and generator diagnostics to extend the lifecycle of client assets. Expand technical knowledge and expertise to effectively implement company policies and strategies, supporting specialized technical roles as needed. Understand core operational factors and utilize this knowledge to execute tasks efficiently, ensuring seamless integration with other team functions and contributing to overall operational objectives. Exercise a degree of autonomy in decision-making within defined parameters, resolving technical issues through sound judgment and adherence to established procedures. Consult with senior team members for complex problems outside standard instructions. Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with clients, acting as a primary interface between the customer and GE Vernova. Clearly communicate technical information to colleagues and clients to ensure mutual understanding. Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
