3D Designer/Fabricator
Company Description LRA3D is a creative fabrication shop specializing in three-dimensional design and fabrication, with a focus on bringing visual concepts from idea to finished product. Based near Aurora, ON, the team combines artistic vision with technical precision to support clients in the Film Production and Advertising industries. The company develops custom 3D solutions in EPS foam and other materials; our work can be seen on big and small screens as well as in the streets of Toronto. Role Description The 3D Designer/Fabricator is a full-time, on-site role based in Aurora, ON. This position is responsible for developing 3D design concepts, creating detailed 3D models, preparing files for fabrication, and hands-on assembly and finishing of client projects. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with internal teams and clients to interpret customer requests, refining designs for both visual impact and structural integrity, and participating in hands-on machining and assembly of finished pieces. The role may also involve assisting with client quotes and ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and timeline requirements.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in 3D Design and Modeling for both conceptual and production-ready work; experience with industry-standard 3D and design software (Rhino3D, Autocad or other CAD tools) is a must, 3D print software an asset. Candidates should possess hands-on skills with hand and power tools as well as CNC tools such as RhinoCAM or equivalent software. Hands-on experience with fabrication processes (e.g., assembly, model building, coating/painting) . Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to translate client concepts into practical build plans. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in an on-site shop environment and manage multiple projects. Relevant education or training in 3D design, industrial design, model building or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
