About the role

At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity for a career that is out of this world! We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Supply Chain Team in beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration.

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and supporting the manufacturing and engineering teams, such as in the purchasing of recurring products, out of production products, and onboarding new products. The Buyer analyzes requisitions, MRP demand, MRO suggestions, transport requirements, and delivery lead times and issue purchase orders for their respective commodity. The Buyer is involved in simple sourcing, read and understand drawings, manufacturing specifications when required.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze requisitions and issue purchase ordersin accordance withestablished procedures.
  • Understandingof system generated demand forpurchasedpartsand the ability to verifycorrect procurement demandbefore placingpurchaseorders.
  • Purchasequalified products from approved suppliers.
  • Management of orders with approved suppliers(includingpricing, lead time,safety, excess, production line stops).
  • Responsible forMaterial RiskIdentificationinseeking solutions beforeimpact tooperations.
  • Provide safety stockrecommendationsbased on productionrequirements.
  • Ability to review specifications and drawingstoverify theintegrity of parts on order & in inventory.
  • Balancing product delivery dates in keeping with production requirementsin order tofunction in a"lean"environment while ensuring the absence of"linestoppages".
  • Manage the flowof product from supplier or manufacturer, in transit shipping, customs clearing, delivery, release to production.
  • Support Quality requests(eTags)whenpurchasedparts arenonconforming.
  • SupportFinance with invoice discrepancy and credit management.
  • Provide long term agreement and quoting support asrequired.
  • Operational Sourcing and Negotiation as needed.

You have:

  • University Diploma orDegree in Supply Chain,Businessor relatedfield.
  • 3-5years' experiencein procurement, supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supply Chain Management Profession Designationisanasset.
  • Knowledge of an AS9100 aerospace work environment
  • Experience with Customs and Duties
  • Experience in managinglogisticsfor procurement
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Project Planner
  • Understanding of an ERP system, prior experience with Epicor is an asset
  • Strong communicationskills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
