About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Confined spaces. Dusty. Noisy. Dirty. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Soldering machine. Spot welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel regularly. Willing to travel for extended periods. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
