As the Raw Material Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe, organized, efficient and productive operation of the grain receiving and feed by-product loadout systems. This role will also assist with the planning and allocation of inbound oat logistics and raw material inventory management. Working with the Procurement Facilities Manager you will provide daily and weekly directions and resources for the department staff, while ensuring that activities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner. A thorough understanding of grading oats for milling is required as mentoring elevator assistants in grading and identifying grading factors is crucial to this role. This position is also responsible for ensuring all rail procedures and operations are followed.

DutiesResponsibilities

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of grain receiving and feed by-product loadout systems.
  • Provide leadership, training, and daily direction to department staff and Elevator Assistants.
  • Ensure grain sampling, grading, testing, and documentation are completed accurately and according to company standards.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, and raw material planning.
  • Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, SOPs, GMPs, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Assist with staffing functions including employee training, evaluations, onboarding, and discipline support.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in grain handling, agriculture, logistics, or food manufacturing operations required.
  • Knowledge of grain grading, commodity handling, and inventory management processes.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train, coach, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to safely work in physically demanding environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety, attention to detail, and operational excellence.

Hours of Work:

This position will be working an 8-hours/day, Monday - Friday schedule. However, there may be a need for overtimes and changing shifts as well as fluctuations in schedules dependent on demand.
