The firm is known for its lean team structure, collaborative working environment, technical depth, and commitment to practical, high-quality project execution.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Data Centre Designer to support the design and development of hyperscale and enterprise data centre facilities.

The successful candidate will independently produce and coordinate design deliverables, develop detailed 3D models, prepare construction documentation, and support multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of project execution.

This role requires advanced Revit capability in an industrial design environment, a strong understanding of BIM workflows, and experience supporting data centre, mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities Independently develop and maintain detailed and complex 3D models and construction drawings using Revit and BIM software. Prepare site layouts, equipment arrangements, floor plans, sections, elevations, General Arrangement drawings, and detailed design packages. Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design models within a multidisciplinary project environment. Participate in clash detection reviews, model coordination meetings, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination activities. Assist with the development and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, libraries, and project workflows. Incorporate engineering and design changes while maintaining accurate models, drawings, and project documentation. Produce coordinated drawing packages suitable for client review, permitting, procurement, fabrication, and construction. Support the preparation and maintenance of as-built documentation and model updates throughout project execution. Coordinate design information between engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Track drawing progress and support project schedules, deliverable registers, and design milestones. Support procurement and construction teams with drawing revisions, technical documentation, and design clarifications. Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, drawing standards, quality procedures, and industry best practices. Participate in regular project meetings, technical reviews, and design coordination sessions. Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible project outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to BIM, modelling standards, design workflows, and project delivery. Support mentorship, technical development, and knowledge sharing within the design team.

Core Competencies 5 or more years of design experience within consulting engineering, EPCM, architecture, mission-critical infrastructure, or a comparable project environment. Advanced proficiency using Revit in an industrial, commercial, or multidisciplinary design environment. Experience developing detailed 3D models, construction drawings, General Arrangement drawings, and coordinated design packages. Previous experience supporting data centre, mission-critical, industrial, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of BIM standards, model management, multidisciplinary coordination, and clash detection processes. Experience coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical design models. Familiarity with construction documentation, drawing standards, permitting packages, procurement packages, and as-built documentation. Experience with BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud is considered an asset. Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, CADWorx, or other 3D modelling and coordination software is considered an asset. Experience working on hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data centre projects is considered an asset. Knowledge of mission-critical facility design principles is considered an asset. Exposure to power distribution systems, cooling infrastructure, telecommunications facilities, or related data centre systems is considered an asset. Experience supporting projects through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout. Strong communication, coordination, technical documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities, project deadlines, and design deliverables.

Education and Experience Diploma or degree in Engineering Design Technology, Architectural Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution. 5 or more years of relevant design and drafting experience.
