How you’ll make an impact
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Hourly Rate: $25.59

Please note this role is a continental rotating shift (12 hour shifts rotating between days and nights).

Position Overview
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials to verify conformance to specifications using visual and measurement tests; reject and document non-conforming materials
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure compliance with work orders, blueprints, and Company standards; communicate necessary adjustments to the Team Lead and/or Shift Manager
  • Perform final inspections of finished products, including approval of rework when required
  • Identify and document steel defects or other quality issues
  • Generate and issue Quality Alerts for both internal and client-driven concerns; ensure communication and acknowledgment from production team members
  • Monitor shop floor activities to verify compliance with quality procedures, standards, and customer requirements
  • Ensure proper handling and segregation of non-conforming products by all production and maintenance team members
  • Complete inspection reports, logs, and documentation, summarize re-work and waste; input data into the quality database accurately and on time
  • Support root cause investigations for client complaints and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Assist with the rollout of new quality documents and ensure production team members are trained and signed off
  • Maintain and calibrate measuring and testing equipment as required; report issues and request repairs
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality systems and processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment by following all health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to ensure high standards are upheld throughout the manufacturing process
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and organizational goals

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED/CAEC) required
  • Technical or vocational training preferred
  • 1-2 years experience as a Quality Inspector, preferably in a manufacturing or steel environment
  • Prior experience operating machinery or equipment preferred
