About the role
What is Moovs? Moovs is a B2B SaaS platform for ground transportation companies. Think Shopify for any company that makes money by transporting people on the ground. Moovs provides businesses with the ability to ingest and manage bookings, dispatch and track drivers, process payments, schedule rides, and handle everything else that goes into running a successful transportation business. We have an AI-forward engineering team that heavily uses coding agents. Codex 5.5 is our internal model of choice at the moment. We use these tools to enhance the speed and quality of the software we deliver. We’ve built AI-augmented processes around problem validation, solution research, implementation, code review, code review response, QA checklist generation, and automated QA. Our engineering team gets to develop solutions to a wide array of technical challenges, from scheduling and conflict resolution, GPS and driver tracking, payments and automated pricing, to building streamlined booking flows. Why this role exists In the last year, we doubled our number of users and revenue and launched new product lines in both the charter and shuttle industries. We did all of this with just four engineers. We hired two additional intermediate engineers in Q1 2026, and our growth has continued to accelerate. Right now, we have a lean team of six engineers who punch way above their weight class. We are looking to hire an additional staff+ level engineer to assist our Head of Engineering in designing, building, and maintaining features across the Moovs platform, along with helping to develop, maintain, and improve AI-augmented engineering processes that improve the quality of the software we ship. Shipping faster with AI is easy. The challenging part is shipping better software with AI. The staff+ engineer in this role will work with our Head of Engineering to solve that challenge. What you’ll own End-to-end ownership of new features in Moovs, from problem validation to design to implementation. High-quality code reviews for the team that eliminate the need to make similar comments more than once. This includes developing, maintaining, and improving AI-augmented processes and tooling to improve the quality of the code we ship. Internal process improvements that increase the quality and maintainability of the software we ship while maintaining a deep developer understanding of the systems we produce. Proactive research and implementation of upgrades to our existing software and infrastructure stack to ensure we are always on LTS and secure versions. Constant experimentation and innovation around ways we can ship higher-quality software. What we are looking for We’re looking for an extremely strong IC with a proven track record of shipping high-quality software. We also place extremely high value on strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be intimately familiar with working with coding agents, as well as the pitfalls that come along with them. Our ideal candidate drank the AI Kool-Aid, had a phase of running six or more agents in parallel to ship more code than they could ever possibly review, then had a production incident and woke up with an AI hangover. They clearly know and acknowledge the indisputable benefits of AI coding tools, but they also recognize that these tools are probabilistic and still require reviewing and verifying their outputs. They are deeply interested in solving the problem of how to ship better software with AI, not worse software faster. They recognize the skill atrophy and judgment decline that come from the overuse of AI and are excited to explore and iterate on solutions to these problems. Reporting and Structure You will work directly with our Head of Engineering and engineering team. We have minimal meetings and prioritize focus work while encouraging spontaneous Discord calls to bounce ideas off your teammates. Compensation $150k–$200k
