Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be part of the Operations Leadership Team and play a key role in the safe, efficient, and disciplined operation of Macassa Mine. You are accountable for a significant portion of the site’s operational execution, ensuring that goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and upholding Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides leadership across Macassa and Portal Mining Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Reliability, ensuring these functions are aligned with site strategy, budget, operational priorities, and long-term mine objectives. Acting as a critical link between strategy and execution, the role ensures integration across underground mining, portal operations, maintenance, planning, cost control, and continuous improvement, consistent with established site-level accountabilities.
Lead safety and operational discipline across all assigned functions; Oversee mining and maintenance execution to meet production and reliability targets; Ensure effective integration between planning, scheduling, and frontline execution; Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, cost performance, and consistency; Support budget management, cost control, and resource optimization; Build leadership capability and hold teams accountable for performance; Act as a key link between site strategy and day-to-day operations, supporting the GM; Work closely with Processing, Health & Safety, Environment, and other departments to ensure integrated and optimized site performance.
What You Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering or related discipline; 10 years’ of experience as a Senior Leader in Mining; Knowledge and understanding of all Ontario health, safety and environmental acts and legislation related to mining operations; Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple projects on competing timelines; Demonstrated success in leading large teams; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Schedule: 4-3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
