Newcon Optik is seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced electro-optical systems used in defence and tactical applications.
You will play a key role in designing, testing and improving sophisticated electronic systems. You'll work across the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, manufacturing support and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities: Design electronic circuits from system and block level through to discrete components Develop analogue and digital hardware solutions Design and support FPGA, microcontroller, DSP, RF, and power supply systems Create prototypes and carry out testing and verification activities Develop custom test benches and scripts for product validation Select and evaluate electronic components and materials Support manufacturing teams with troubleshooting and failure analysis Develop and improve electronic design procedures and methodologies Prepare technical reports relating to engineering and research activities Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and service teams to deliver successful projects

The Person A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline At least 5 years' experience in electronic hardware design Strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design Experience with FPGA technologies, including Xilinx/AMD and Lattice platforms PCB design experience using Altium or PADS Experience with HDL languages such as VHDL, Verilog HDL, or SystemVerilog Knowledge of UART, I²C, and SPI interfaces Programming experience in C/C++ and VB Experience using MATLAB, Visual Studio, or NI LabVIEW Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with DSP, mobile application support, or AI-assisted development tools would be advantageous.
