Role Description The Equipment Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment used in battery repurposing and energy storage systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime. The technician will inspect equipment, document maintenance activities, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement improvements. This role also supports commissioning of new equipment, adheres to safety and quality standards, and contributes to continuous improvement of maintenance processes. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for industrial or manufacturing environments. Experience with Equipment Installation, including setup, alignment, and testing of battery packs and high voltage systems. Strong Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Foundational knowledge of Electricity, including safe work practices and reading electrical diagrams. Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields. Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and maintenance management software effectively. Understanding of safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and occupational health and safety standards. Experience in energy storage, battery systems, advanced manufacturing, or clean technology is an asset. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
