Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Pipefitter Apprentice to join our fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced Journeyperson Pipefitters in a fast-paced industrial fabrication environment. The successful candidate will assist with pipe preparation, fitting, assembly, and fabrication activities while developing technical skills and trade knowledge.This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in pipefitting and industrial fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Journeyperson Pipefitters with fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
• Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe and components according to drawings and specifications.
• Support pipe fitting activities including layout, alignment, and assembly of piping systems.
• Read and interpret basic drawings, isometrics, and fabrication details as skills develop.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and movement of materials within the shop.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Participate in shop setup and production activities as required.
• Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
• Support production targets and assist with general labour duties when needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Pipefitter Apprentice or willingness to register in an apprenticeship program.
• Previous experience in construction, fabrication, industrial, or shop environments considered an asset.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools preferred.
• Ability to read measurements accurately and perform basic calculations.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take direction.
• Reliable transportation to Nisku.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to industrial piping systems or fabrication shop environments.
• Basic understanding of pipe fitting tools and equipment.
• Experience reading tape measurements and interpreting simple drawings.
• Forklift or material handling experience considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

Compensation & Benefits

• $35/hr - $50/hr.
