About the role

Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a motivated and dependable Shop Hand to join our heavy duty repair team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced shop environment and is looking to build experience in the heavy equipment and commercial transport industry.

The Shop Hand plays an important role in supporting technicians and maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain shop work areas
  • Wash equipment and vehicles
  • Assist technicians with repairs and shop tasks
  • Pick up and deliver parts as required
  • Organize tools, parts, and inventory
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Dispose of waste fluids and materials properly
  • Assist with moving equipment in and around the yard
  • Maintain cleanliness of service trucks and shop equipment
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Mechanical aptitude considered an asset
  • Forklift experience considered an asset
  • Previous shop or labor experience preferred but not required
