The Area Material Manager is responsible for the operational integrity of the materials management program across an assigned geographic area. This role carries broad accountability across procurement, inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving compliance, cycle counts, and the development and performance of materials management staff. The Area Material Manager is expected to actively manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and drive procurement decisions that deliver the best value for DH Pace — while serving as the area-level steward of inventory accuracy, process adherence, and materials governance. Job Responsibilities Lead and support the area materials management program, ensuring all warehouse and parts operations meet established performance standards for stock levels, accuracy, and operational efficiency. Oversee inventory control across the full materials lifecycle — receiving, put-away, stock rotation, staging, and shipment — in alignment with company policy and the Materials Management Manual. Drive cycle count programs and physical inventory audits for all locations within the area. Monitor and respond to inventory reports including negative inventory, slow-moving stock, hot-list items, and shrinkage trends; escalate anomalies to Operations leadership. Establish and maintain standard mobile (truck) inventories for Service and Install vehicles; enforce standard replenishment cycle using the DRP system. Actively manage vendor relationships and lead procurement negotiations across the area, including pricing agreements, freight terms, early-pay discount programs, and local vendor partnerships. Enforce receiving protocols across the area. Verify accuracy of packing slips, load sheets, and bills of lading for all inbound shipments; ensure ERP (BAAN/IFS) transactions are entered promptly and accurately. Oversee parts, shop, and warehouse operations within the area markets: implement and maintain stock levels, overall efficiencies, and provide feedback to improve the operational process. Manage vendor return and freight claim processes (RGAs, damage claims, shortage claims). Efficiently manage, provide leadership for, and develop management staff for future advancement through effective communication, coaching, training, and development. Determine staffing levels and ensure compliance with company hiring, counseling/discipline, and termination policies. Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity. Address and resolve all employee concerns/issues in a timely manner. Support internal and external audits by providing timely access to records, documentation, and system data; proactively escalate risks to Internal Audit leadership in accordance with established escalation protocols. Other duties may be assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive materials management, warehouse operations, or supply chain experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with ERP systems (BAAN, IFS, SAP, or equivalent) required. APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent supply chain certification preferred. Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to hold a geographically distributed team accountable to consistent standards. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward customers, internal and external, regardless of the circumstances. Communicate with customer, supervisor, or other office personnel in an effective and timely manner. Travel up to 60% within the assigned area. Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and good driving record The anticipated pay range for this position is below. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
