Role Description The HVAC Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This role involves designing HVAC systems for residential and commercial buildings, including load calculations, equipment selection, and layout of ductwork and piping. The HVAC Designer will prepare detailed drawings and models using CAD/BIM tools, coordinate HVAC design with plumbing and other building systems, and ensure compliance with local codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project requirements, collaborating with engineers and other design professionals, updating designs based on feedback, and supporting permit documentation for city submissions. The role also includes maintaining design quality, meeting project deadlines, and contributing to continuous improvement in design processes.
Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in HVAC Design and HVAC system layout for residential and commercial projects. Candidates should possess skills in Plumbing Design and Plumbing system coordination with HVAC and other building services. Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Mechanical Engineering related to building services and environmental systems. Proficiency with CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and the ability to produce clear, detailed design drawings. Understanding of relevant building codes, standards, and permitting requirements in Ontario or similar jurisdictions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams. Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Systems, or a related field; prior experience in HVAC/plumbing design is an asset.
