About the role

Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Architectural firm. Urban area. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Adjust their designs to conform to limiting factors such as budget allocation and cost of materials. Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered. Generate building plans and detailed drawings to be used by contractors and tradespersons. Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in architecture or engineering projects. Project management. Work in limiting factors, such as town planning laws and environmental impact assessments. Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules. Prepare sketches and models. Perform architectural research . Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in the Provincial Association of Architects. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification offered by the Canada Green Building Council. Computer and technology knowledge: Adobe Photoshop. MS Office. AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. SketchUp. Adobe Suite. InDesign. Area of work experience: Project coordination. Architectural specialization: Public buildings. New construction. Renovation. Commercial. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Drafting. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
