Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Tasks: Install equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies. Install refrigeration systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Install equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
