About the role:
Our Production team is looking for an Automated Packaging Operator to work in our Stamping department.
You will be responsible for the continuous operation of the automated packaging and palletizing system, troubleshooting and maintaining the equipment, and the quality of the product you produce.
What you’ll do:
- Operate the packaging system monitoring overall performance, efficiency and quality
- Perform equipment start-up, shut down and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate major repairs and overhauls with maintenance personnel
- Replenish depleted packaging materials
- Maintain label integrity within packaging operations
- Ensure the finished product is correctly packaged, palletized and processed for shipment
- Enter data and maintain operational records in the ERP system
- Ensure the continuity of quality and production to our required standards
- Responsible to report Food Safety and Quality problems to the direct Supervisor
- Safely coordinating the elimination of jams and machine halts, at all times following company policy regarding Hazardous Energy Control and Lockout Tagout
- Drive and store finished pallets from the Autopack area to the staging area
- Manually pack when the automated packaging line is non-functioning
- Restock raw materials (such as bags, boxes, and tape) on the production line as required
- Assist production forklift drivers when needed
- Adhere to company guidelines regarding general housekeeping, including keeping work areas tidy and free of clutter
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Mechanical aptitude: experience working with robotic palletizing machinery is considered an asset
- Basic English (verbal & written)
- Basic administrative skills in maintaining records and controls
- Basic computer skills
- 1 year of experience driving a forklift is preferred
- Able to lift 40 lbs., multiple times throughout the shift
- 2 years’ working in a high-speed manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Positive work history
- Able to stand for several hours at a time
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts
Massilly runs three shifts - must be able to work all three:
- Days ( 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m)
- Afternoons ( 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m)
- Nights ( 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m)
Profile
What we offer:
- Hourly: Wage Increase After Training Period (Training Rate $23.54/hr. Fully Trained Rate $24.78/hr.)
- Shift Premiums - Afternoons $0.50/hr, Nights $1.00/hr
- 3 weeks vacation per year
