About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join Fed Manutech’s innovative technical team. This role is integral to supporting multiple ongoing projects that involve designing, prototyping, and refining mechanical systems for our advanced products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, combined with hands-on experience in prototyping and assembly. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop detailed technical drawings, perform thermal analyses, and optimize designs for real-world application. Your contributions will directly impact the development of demo units, technical setups, and final products, helping Fed Manutech maintain its position at the forefront of technological innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in mechanical design within a technical or industrial environment. Proven expertise in SolidWorks is essential, along with experience in thermal modeling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Familiarity with 2D CAD tools and BOM generation is required. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, combined with hands-on prototyping skills, will be highly valued. Additional qualifications such as SAE/Baja project experience, OIQ membership, and proficiency in French are considered assets. Professional English communication skills are mandatory to facilitate regular interaction with North American partners.
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems for innovative technical products, ensuring alignment with project specifications and performance goals. Create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, assemblies, and comprehensive documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes. Perform thermal analysis and CFD simulations to validate and optimize mechanical designs under various operating conditions. Iterate and refine prototypes through hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting to achieve desired functionality and reliability. Manage mechanical Bill of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy and completeness for procurement and manufacturing. Contribute to the setup and demonstration of prototypes and demo units, supporting technical presentations and client interactions. Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineers, to integrate mechanical components seamlessly into overall product systems.
