About the role
We require an experienced network cabling technician for occasional jobs and projects in the GTA to support our rapidly growing cabling division.
Required skills and experience:
-Pulling cable (copper and fiber) in an organized manner
-Terminating ethernet cables with male and female jacks, with a high degree of efficiency and low error rate
-Dressing/Structuring cables (home run and patch) in a highly organized manner in racks and patch panels for new installations or clean-up of existing, making use of or creating cable management as needed.
-Building, mounting and populating racks
-Experience in driving a scissor lift
-Experience working at heights
-Testing and troubleshooting ethernet cables
-Comfort on a ladder and in construction like environments
-Experience mounting devices such as security cameras and Wifi Access points to drop tile ceiling, brick, or steel girders and general server/networking skills are a plus.
-Being able to terminate fiber would be an excellent bonus skill
Work will be project based and the successful candidate will be on site as part of a team of 2-4 individuals, typically. Ability to understand drawn plans, and spoken direction in real-time will be essential, as will be the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually depending on the task at hand. Ideally applicants will have their own set of tools available, however tools can be provided. Your own vehicle is required to independently travel to job sites.
