Receive, verify, label, prepare, crush, pulverize, and sieve geological samples according to Standard Operating Procedures without deviation unless authorized by the Manager. Ensure fast and accurate processing of incoming samples according to established priorities. Scan crushing/pulverizing quality control checks, equipment used, and completed boxes before forwarding samples to the next processing station as required. Perform and document quality checks during sample preparation according to SOPs and halt production in consultation with the Supervisor when non-compliance is identified. Operate, clean, and perform routine care of sample preparation equipment and notify the Shift Lead-Hand or Supervisor when maintenance is required. Move samples, sample containers, and materials throughout the laboratory using safe material handling practices. Comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures, and applicable ISO standards. Maintain a safe, professional work environment while wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Provide feedback to the Lead-Hand or Supervisor regarding opportunities for continuous improvement within the work area. Perform other duties as assigned.

  Work Environment   This position is performed in a mineral sample preparation laboratory supporting the mining industry. Employees work with rock and soil samples using crushing, pulverizing, and screening equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). The role involves repetitive manual tasks, prolonged standing, frequent lifting of materials, and working in an industrial laboratory environment.   Job Qualifications

Minimum completion of high school or equivalent. Previous experience using heavy equipment or working in a mineral processing laboratory is preferred but not required. Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow written and verbal safety instructions. Ability to lift 20 to 50 lbs for prolonged periods. Strong organizational and time management skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Great attitude with an open and inclusive mindset.

Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday Overnight Shift: 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday to Thursday Weekend Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Weekend Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

  Pay Rates

$20.51/hour plus $1.89/hour Northern Living Allowance Premium Additional shift premiums for select shifts

  Yukon Nominee Program Info National Occupational Classification (NOC): 95100 – Labourers in mineral and metal processing (formerly NOC 9611) This position does not include guaranteed support under the Yukon Nominee Program. Any future support is discretionary. Bureau Veritas considers employees on a case-by-case basis, at the manager's discretion, after 1 year of employment. We only consider exceptional employees for this program and can only grant a few people this opportunity each year.
