MAINTENANCE MILLWRIGHT

We are not looking for a typical Maintenance Technician. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that keeps a high-performing food manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting power transmission systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems operated in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment, ensuring the mechanical integrity and continuous, safe operation of all production equipment. The Maintenance Millwright will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures.

  • Perform routine, preventative maintenance (PM) checks, lubrication, adjustments, and complex repairs on all production equipment as required and directed by the Maintenance Leadership.
  • Quickly diagnose mechanical failures in production equipment like conveyors, mixers, tumblers, grinders, pumps, motors, refrigeration units and packaging machinery as required to maintain production capacity.
  • Install, assemble, dismantle, realign, and move stationary industrial machinery according to blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
  • Work on power transmission systems, and increasingly, on associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems. A working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is often required or beneficial.
  • Suggest improvements to the process and equipment that improve either situation from current state.
  • Document work activities in the daily logbook and Megamation with specifics as required of the situation. 
  • Enter work orders in Megamation for tasks encountered on shift and complete work orders with pertinent comments as the situation requires.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities and repairs.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Refrigerated food production facility.
  • Physically active role (lifting, climbing, confined spaces).
  • Exposure to temperature changes, machinery, and noise.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and shift work.
  • Graveyard shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally have 4th Class Power Engineer with minimum 2 years' operating experience.
  • Millwright (apprentice level 2 above) or over 3 years mechanic experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and utility systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or industrial environments is an asset.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with solid communication skills.

TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:

  • Hourly wage: $38.90 to $45.80
  • Graveyard premium: $3 per hour
  • Annual bonus based on the company's financial and operational results.
  • Vacation: 15 paid days per year.
  • Sick Leave: 7 paid days per year.
