Temporary Video Content Technician
(Temporary Assignment ending no later than December 10, 2027)
The Video Content Technician role supports the TVDSB strategic communications plan by capturing, editing organizing, and publishing all forms or visual media to tell the stories of Thames Valley with a goal to build brand awareness and reputation while increasing student, family and community engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized three-year post-secondary program in Graphic Design and/or Multimedia.
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of the different systems, theories, and practices relevant to public education as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles is required for this role. Experience is required in using DLSR, video, audio and lighting equipment, and the individual must be proficient in computer systems such as Outlook 365, MS Office Suite, etc. Strong photo and video editing skills including proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere, InDesign) are required in addition to strong visual composition skills, sophisticated design and layout sensibilities, and creative visual solutions. Proficient use of the Adobe CC Suite and related production equipment is an expectation. Expertise working with Adobe /Google Analytics is required – possession of a Google Analytics Certification is considered an asset.
The successful candidate will be proficient with major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as with hosting virtual recordings, which include but are not limited to Zoom, Google Meet, and live streaming to Facebook or YouTube. Strong storytelling skills are required, which include written and verbal communication skills, as well as being able to communicate to a wide audience. AODA informed and compliant is a requirement of the position in addition to having a demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds of TVDSB families. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and is a self-starter with capability to manage and drive multiple deliverables simultaneously. Full proficiency in the English language is required (written and spoken).
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required. The successful candidate must be able to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities.
EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have three to five years of Videography experience.

Rate of Pay: $29.81 per hour + 4% vacation pay

The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons and a pre-employment medical screening test. In accordance with regulations, the criminal record background check will be an ongoing requirement TVDSB employees every five years of their employment.
