Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Apprentice Electrician role located in Edmonton, AB. The Apprentice Electrician will assist journeypersons and senior electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Daily tasks include pulling wire, mounting fixtures and devices, preparing materials, and helping with conduit and panel work under supervision. The role involves supporting troubleshooting efforts, performing basic diagnostic checks, and following directions to complete tasks safely and efficiently. The Apprentice Electrician will adhere to safety regulations, maintain a clean and organized work area, use hand and power tools properly, and participate in ongoing training to progress through apprenticeship levels. Qualifications Foundational knowledge of electricity and basic electrical principles, with a willingness to learn and apply codes and standards. Ability to perform electrical work tasks under supervision, including assisting with installations and supporting jobsite preparation. Skills in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical components, with attention to safety and detail. Interest or background in electrical engineering concepts as they apply to practical field work. Enrollment in or eligibility for an electrical apprenticeship program in Alberta is an asset. Strong commitment to safety, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company and regulatory procedures. Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively in a team environment, and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Physical ability to perform manual work, including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and working on ladders or in confined spaces. Reliable transportation to Edmonton-area worksites and flexibility to work varying schedules as required by projects.
