About FirstHx FirstHx builds the clinical intelligence layer that makes healthcare AI actually reliable. Our products, FirstHx (AI-powered pre-visit patient history) and Aris (an ambient AI clinical scribe), give clinicians structured, accurate patient data before and during the visit. Ambient scribes clean up documentation, but they cannot fix poor clinical input. We solve that upstream, closing the data gaps that cause AI to hallucinate. We are a small, fast-moving team already deployed with real clinics and enterprise partners across Canada.

About the Role We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with genuine AI experience to help build and scale the platform behind both products. You will own meaningful parts of the system, work close to the product, and ship features clinicians use in live patient care. This is a high- ownership role on a small team, not a cog in a large org. The role is fully remote within Canada, working core hours on Eastern Time, with a preference for candidates in the Toronto and greater GTA area.

Responsibilities: • Design, build, and ship production features across the full stack, from frontend to backend to data. • Build and integrate AI and LLM-powered capabilities into real clinical workflows. • Work with healthcare data and EMR integrations such as OSCAR, Accuro, Telus, Epic, Cerner, and MEDITECH. • Help shape architecture, technical direction, and engineering standards as we scale. • Hold a high bar for reliability, security, and patient privacy at every step.

What you bring: • 5+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience. • Hands-on experience building with AI, ML, or LLMs in production, not just experimentation. • Strong full stack skills across a modern web stack, from frontend through backend and data. • Comfort owning problems end to end in a startup environment. • Based in Canada and able to work core hours on Eastern Time. • Bonus: health tech or clinical software experience, and familiarity with healthcare privacy frameworks such as PHIPA, PIPEDA, or HIPAA.
