We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BOM Coordinator / QAD Specialist to join our Engineering Team.
The candidate must have robust problem-solving and communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering team. A strong background with mechanical, electrical and gas concepts will be important. The ability to carry out tasks independently and effectively will be critical for this role, as well as documenting test results clearly in professional reports and communicating findings. The ideal candidate would have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with a variety of tools and an understanding of electrical concepts and gas systems. A problem-solving mentality, willingness to learn, adapt and be both effective independently and in a team environment.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position is based in our Mississauga, Ontario, facility. This is a full-time, permanent role that is an addition to headcount.
Major Accountability / Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Process Engineering Change Order from PLM (Arena) to ERP (QAD). Ensure proper identification of engineering drawings, items, documents and Engineering Change Orders, and that engineering metadata is entered in ERP (QAD) and PLM (Arena) systems correctly.
- Create Item Master, upload Bill of Materials, and link the corresponding files in QAD.
- Coordinate approvals of the above documentation in Arena and QAD.
- Release items, drawings and ECOs in accordance with company documentation processes and standards.
- Issue Production Change Order (PCO) in QAD and assign a route for operations to work on.
- Track and follow up on open engineering changes.
- Special Product set up in QAD.
- Upload drawing from Pending to Live upon PCO implementation.
- Control and update internal Word, Excel, and PowerPoint–based templates.
- Coordinate with the operation leader for the implementation of PCO/ECOs in QAD and Arena.
- Coordinate with Product Configurator Engineer for new model setup.
- Generate a daily Excel summary report of the Engineering changes.
- Maintain process and work instructions for effective data management.
- Find process improvements for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Special Orders, Finance, Sales, and Quality Control departments.
- Maintain PLM Arena system.
Qualifications

Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems. QAD/Arena experience is a plus.
- Experience with Engineering and Manufacturing processes.
- Able to read engineering drawings.
- Good Excel/Word/PowerPoint software skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Able to communicate and coordinate with multi-functional teams.

Education and Experience
- College diploma or post-secondary certification.
- 1 - 3 years working with Engineering Change Order process administration, item and BOM setup, and product design support in a manufacturing environment.
