Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration. 

The Industrial Mechanic will inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, test, install, troubleshoot, and be responsible for other technical and maintenance operations associated with a wide variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.

YOU WILL:

  • Inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, test, install, troubleshoot, and other technical and maintenance operations associated with a wide variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment including, including, but not limited to milling machines, hydraulic presses, routers, drill presses, pumps, fans, tanks, motors, autoclaves, furnaces, etc. to manufacturer’s specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions. Troubleshoot any anomalies noted, identify, and implement corrective actions to restore machinery/equipment to operating condition.
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on the procurement of tooling and equipment.
  • Operate machine tools to verify proper operation of machines or equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain technical records of work completed, maintain a clean work environment and comply with all applicable safety policies and regulations.
  • Support training of less experienced maintenance staff.
  • Provide assistance with plant maintenance functions as required.
  • Meet schedule to support production requirements.
  • Follow and promote safety rules, such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection where required.

YOU HAVE: 

  • Trade Certification as a licensed Industrial Mechanic/Millwright 
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance in an industrial environment
  • Ability to do machinist work on small projects when required using a lathe and milling machine.
  • Knowledge of machinery repair techniques and industry standards.
  • Ability to use power tools, cutting tools and equipment common to the Millwright trade. 
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Ability to follow demonstrated steps.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs and wearing personal protective equipment. 
  • Self-motivated, quick learner.
  • Ability to keep track of various parts and job orders and manage time spent on different tasks.
  • Ability to keep a clean workspace (parts can be sensitive to foreign materials).
  • Put safety first and realize how important it is to take care around certain machinery/equipment.
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned.
