Labourer I (Operations)
(CUPE Full-time, Time-durated)
The City of Pitt Meadows is looking for skilled individuals to perform a diverse range of maintenance and construction tasks throughout the city. Reporting to the Manager of Operations and the Assistant Manager of Operations, this position involves routine cleaning duties at our sewer and water pump stations, culverts, sidewalks, boulevards, and other facilities. The successful applicants will perform litter pick-up, ditch leveling, and supporting the other staff members involved in public works operations. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and is motivated to deliver high-quality customer service. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm) with a 40-hour workweek. Please note that these are time-durated positions with a contract of approximately 6 months.
QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent experience or training.

Experience operating a variety of small equipment and hand tools.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

Ability to effectively and safely perform heavy manual labour outdoors in all weather conditions.

CUPE Wage Rate - $32.79 per hour (2024 rates) + 12% in lieu.
