Your future role on our team:

BBA has a new opportunity for a junior structural designer in our Concord or Toronto offices to support the delivery of technical expertise and structural design requirements within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This role will provide the successful candidate a wide range of challenging projects within heavy industry including traditional and diversified energy projects, wind and solar, mining, brownfield and greenfield projects.

• Plan and create detailed structural engineering drawings in both 2D and 3D design, taking designs from concept to final product while working collaboratively with engineers

• Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures

• Maintain accurate design files for reference

• Check 2D drawings and 3D models for clashes and constructability with other disciplines

• Interpreting complex drawings that incorporate interfacing structural design requirements with piping, mechanical, electrical and other aspects of industrial work

• Adapt to different client standards and design software

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

• Structural engineering technician / technology diploma
• 3+ years of related experience in structural drafting and design with experience preparing designs for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or wood structures
• Advance Steel expertise along with Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Drafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environment
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in problem-solving
• Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures
• Familiar working with point cloud data
• Experience with Tekla will be considered as an asset.
