About the role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Millwork/pre-fab shopwork. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Installation specialization: Doors. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety vest. Personal suitability: Accurate. Judgement. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics. Punctuality. Other: Use of artificial intelligence.
