Role Description This full-time Data Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs. Daily responsibilities include developing and optimizing ETL processes, implementing data models, and managing data warehousing solutions to ensure data reliability and accessibility. The role involves close collaboration with data analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, improve data quality, and enhance performance. The Data Engineer will also monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to documentation and best practices for data infrastructure. Qualifications Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and data infrastructure. Proficiency in data modeling techniques to support reporting, analytics, and scalable database design. Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and frameworks to integrate data from multiple sources. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and platforms, including schema design and performance optimization. Experience in data analytics, including working with large datasets to support insights and decision-making. Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala). Familiarity with cloud data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
