Salary Range: $56,416 - $73,324 per annum. A Market Differential may apply.

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager, Systems & Applications, this position is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the university's identity and access management (IAM) environment. This includes leading the integration and operation of systems such as Entra ID, MidPoint, directory services, and single sign-on (SSO) infrastructure. The role emphasizes high availability, security, scalability, and compliance with institutional and industry standards.

Lead the maintenance and operation of UNB's identity and access management systems to ensure reliability, security, and compliance. Provide advanced operational support for IAM infrastructure. Troubleshoot complex identity provisioning and authentication issues across hybrid environments (e.g., Entra ID ↔ on-prem AD ↔ MidPoint). Resolve access anomalies, MFA enrollment issues, directory synchronization failures, and consent/auth delegation issues. Coordinate the deployment and configuration of new IAM components and connectors. This includes provisioning identity bridges, standing up new federation integrations with third-party cloud services, and onboarding applications to the university's SSO environment. Act as the subject matter expert for identity and access governance. Work with application owners, directors, and other units to analyze access models and design appropriate identity roles and entitlements. Lead workshops on IAM capabilities and limitations. Design identity and access management solutions that are scalable, auditable, and secure. Define role-based and attribute-based access control models (RBAC/ABAC) for enterprise applications. Lead the design of lifecycle automation processes, including onboarding/offboarding workflows and delegated administration. Continuously monitor identity infrastructure for availability, performance, and compliance. Review access logs, authentication telemetry, and audit events from sources like Entra ID, MidPoint, and identity federation gateways. Participate in project teams as an effective team member and complete independent projects successfully and on time.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering. 5 years progressive experience in systems analysis.

Expertise in Linux and Windows systems administration Advanced knowledge of system security practices Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL) Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
