Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Integration Services, the First Article Specialist plays a critical role in Compugen’s Integration Services and quality assurance processes.
This role is responsible for translating customer requirements into validated, production-ready device configurations. Acting as the bridge between solution design and large-scale deployment, the First Article Specialist ensures that all devices are properly configured, tested, documented, and approved before entering mass production.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring both technical expertise in modern endpoint provisioning and strong coordination with internal teams and customers.
On-site at Richmond Hill office.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to gather and interpret device configuration, imaging, and provisioning requirements Build and configure “First Article” devices, including OS deployment, application installation, and policy configuration Develop detailed, step-by-step build documentation (runbooks) for production technicians Validate device functionality within customer environments, ensuring alignment with expected performance and security requirements Lead customer validation and sign-off processes prior to production deployment Manage revisions and updates to configurations based on testing feedback and change requests Ensure First Article deliverables align with production schedules and operational timelines Partner with Inside Sales and Configuration Administration teams to validate order accuracy and technical requirements Create and maintain unique configuration codes aligned to customer specifications Act as a subject matter resource and provide guidance to technicians during production readiness Maintain compliance with ISO Quality Management Systems, including documentation, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure departmental ISO Quality Management System Compliancy (process, documentation, governance, training and continuous improvement);
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with modern device provisioning and endpoint management platforms, such as: Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager (Autopilot) Jamf (macOS/iOS device management) VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) Strong understanding of OS deployment and imaging processes (Windows, macOS) Experience with device configuration, including BIOS/UEFI settings, drivers, and firmware updates Professional Skills
Strong documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to translate technical requirements into clear, repeatable instructions Effective communication and customer engagement skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented mindset with the ability to lead and influence without formal authority
Experience
2–5+ years in IT integration, endpoint provisioning, or configuration services Experience working in a configuration center, integration lab, or similar environment is preferred
