About the role
Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented fiber technician to install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, works well independently and as part of a team, and follows safety and industry standards.
Position Title: Electrical Supervisor Location: Mosaic/Nutrien Closing: Position will remain open until a successful candidate is hired
Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (aerial and/or underground) Perform splicing, connectorization, and fiber testing (OTDR, power meter, light source) Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues Read and interpret fiber prints, schematics, and work orders Document work completed, test results, and materials used Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers
Qualifications & Requirements Experience working with fiber optic cable installation and splicing Ability to use fiber testing equipment Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Valid driver’s license Ability to work day and night shifts
Preferred Qualifications Journeyperson Electrician Industry certifications (e.g., FOA, ETA, manufacturer certifications) Experience with OTDR testing and troubleshooting Experience with underground fiber Knowledge of local safety regulations and standards Experience with giber patching Previous telecommunications or utility experience
