This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with the hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your Role

Reporting to the Director, Montreal Infrastructure Solutions, you’ll support the Technology Support team for the Montreal Production division and serve as spokesperson and contact for the support team covering News, Radio and General Television at Maison de Radio-Canada and Grandé Studio.

In this front-facing role, you’ll be the leader and primary support resource for teams and partners. You’ll be expected to sustain operational excellence by being there for employees, providing direct guidance and immediately co-ordinating operational support.

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work, but some on-site presence is required. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Key Tasks

Be present on the ground for the team by providing direct guidance and necessary support on a day-to-day basis. Promote a healthy work environment and ensure compliance with employee health and safety standards. Oversee the work done by technicians and supervising technicians in Montreal, including support at Maison de Radio‑Canada, Grandé Studio or outside events. Supervise employee logistics such as returns to work, absences and schedule management: Allocate staff so that productions are adequately supported. Assign employees to various tasks and manage priorities. Allocate staff to ensure both preventive and corrective maintenance needs are met. Be the primary point of contact and first responder immediately supporting the team and co-ordinating communications during major outages. Co-ordinate troubleshooting and problem-solving by documenting issues and solutions. Give an opinion on team members’ individual performance and recommend improvements. Define training needs and maintain a continuing education calendar throughout the year. Support the completion of multiple projects originating from maintenance, engineering and production. Attend production and engineering project meetings to develop the necessary support plans and ensure resource alignment. Assist the Director in meeting the division’s needs and requirements and achieving objectives. Collaborate with managers to analyze and optimize support processes on an ongoing basis. Help determine the appropriate technical solutions to meet the needs of partners, projects and team members. Take part in reviewing the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and deploying resiliency tests. What You Bring

University degree or college diploma, preferably in communications, technology or television broadcasting. At least three years’ relevant experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent knowledge of French. Jira platform knowledge is an asset. Vimbiz platform knowledge is an asset. Knowledge of television broadcasting is essential. Leadership experience. Management experience in a unionized environment. Ability to work a primarily daytime schedule but remain available 24/7. Availability to work on call outside regular business hours.

Other Knowledge

Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills. Organized and self-motivated. Ability to collaborate with other business areas in a stressful environment. Sound judgment and the ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong time management skills. Functional bilingualism (French/English) is a major asset.
