Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage the estimating team to deliver accurate, high-quality estimates Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, tools, and standards Contribute to bid strategy, including risk evaluation and project selection Estimating & Execution Oversee preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify risks, gaps, and overlaps Evaluate tenders for quality, completeness, and risk profile Ensure estimates are delivered on time and align with project requirements Technical & Commercial Coordination Analyze subcontractor pricing, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications Provide clear direction to suppliers and subcontractors based on tender requirements Support development of execution plans, schedules, and manpower projections Contribute to proposal submissions with clear, value-driven technical content Identify execution and pricing risks and develop mitigation strategies

Qualifications 7–10+ years of estimating experience in heavy industrial construction, including site exposure. Strong expertise in structural, mechanical equipment and piping systems. Proficiency in interpreting drawings, schematics, PIDs, LDTs, and specifications across multiple trades. Experience with contract types including lump sum, unit rate, and T&M. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and constructability. Experience preparing proposal documents (schedules, manpower plans, execution strategies). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Navisworks/SmartPlant, Bluebeam and Adobe. Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Trade certification or engineering degree preferred. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing Drivers Abstract Background check and other assessments as required CSTS 20 and WHMIS 2015 certifications Occasional travel to job sites for bidding and project kick-off meetings
