Reporting to senior commissioning leaders, you will contribute to delivering commissioning services across a variety of building projects. This role is well suited to a hands-on, technically strong individual looking to grow their career, whether from a trades (mechanical/electrical/controls) or engineering/technology background. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who works well in a team environment, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential due to regular client interaction. What you will get up to: Support commissioning activities on new construction and existing building projects Assist in the development and execution of commissioning plans and test procedures Perform functional testing of building systems, including: HVAC systems Mechanical systems Electrical systems Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) Participate in site inspections to verify installation and system performance Identify and document deficiencies and support tracking through resolution Review drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation under guidance from senior staff Coordinate with contractors, controls vendors, and project teams Assist in preparing commissioning reports and documentation Attend project meetings and contribute technical input as experience develops What we are looking for: Qualifications, Experience and Requirements: 2–5 years of relevant experience in commissioning, controls, or building systems One of the following: Red Seal Journeyman Electrician with commercial BMS/controls experience Red Seal Journeyman Plumber & Gasfitter with commercial BMS/controls experience Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or early-career Commissioning Engineer LEED accreditation (Green Associate or AP) is considered an asset Familiarity with building codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CSA) Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites Required Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical building systems Working knowledge of BAS/BMS systems and building controls Experience with major BMS platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric) Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and control sequences Exposure to commissioning processes and/or high-performance building projects Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with willingness to learn in the field Good communication and coordination skills Familiarity with Canadian engineering standards and industry practices We thank all candidates for their interest, however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
