About Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom is a premier remote northern hospitality destination located in the Northwest Territories. Accessible only by air, the lodge delivers immersive wilderness experiences while operating in one of Canada’s most unique and environmentally sensitive environments. As part of the Arctic Kingdom portfolio, Blachford Lodge combines authentic northern adventure with operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and exceptional guest experiences.

Job Overview

The Systems & Maintenance Technician supports the safe, reliable operation of Blachford Lodge's physical infrastructure, mechanical systems, and grounds. Blachford Lodge is accessible only by air and operates entirely off-grid — there is no utility company, no on-call contractor, and no same-day parts delivery. Every system that keeps the lodge running, including power, heat, water, fuel, and sanitation, depends on the technical competency and reliability of the people maintaining it on-site. Reporting to the Property & Systems Lead, this is a hands-on, broad-scope role spanning generator and boiler operation, fuel handling, water and wastewater systems, preventative maintenance, and general property and grounds upkeep. The position requires genuine mechanical aptitude, sound judgment around fuel and utility safety, and the physical capacity to perform sustained outdoor labour in a sub-Arctic environment across all seasons. Because Blachford Lodge runs as a small, close-knit team, the Systems & Maintenance Technician may also be asked to support guiding or guest-facing operations when infrastructure responsibilities are fully covered and operational capacity allows. This cross-functional flexibility is a genuine expectation of the role, not an occasional exception.
