Senior PCB Hardware Engineer
About the role
About Us Haply is building the human interface for Physical AI. As robots and autonomous systems become more capable, humans still need intuitive ways to teach, guide, and supervise physical tasks. Haply builds the platform that allows people to program and train machines through touch and motion. Our technology is used by leading robotics, AI, industrial, aerospace, and defense organizations around the world to accelerate teleoperation, robot learning, and Physical AI.
Backed by world-renowned investors, we're growing quickly and building products that are already deployed by customers worldwide.
The Role We're hiring a Senior PCB Hardware Engineer to design the electronics that power the next generation of Haply devices.
You'll own embedded hardware development from architecture and schematic design through PCB layout, validation, manufacturing, and production. Working alongside firmware, mechanical, robotics, and product engineers, you'll build reliable, high-performance hardware that enables precise human-machine interaction.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving challenging electrical design problems, debugging hardware in the lab, and taking products from concept to production. If you thrive at the intersection of embedded electronics, manufacturing, and robotics, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do Design and develop embedded hardware for Haply's family of haptic and robotic devices. Own electrical architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection for new products. Own PCB layout, DFM, DFA, DFT, design rule checks, prototype builds, validation plans, and production handoff. Bring up new hardware, validate prototypes, and debug board-level issues. Review and optimize power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, EMI/EMC, and mixed-signal designs. Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware/software integration. Work with manufacturing partners to improve reliability, yield, and production readiness. Develop validation plans and investigate failures throughout product development and production. Participate in design reviews, technical planning, and continuous improvement of our hardware platform.
Who You Are 5+ years of experience developing embedded hardware for commercial products. Experience owning DFM, DFA, DFT, design rule checks, prototype builds, validation plans, and production handoff. Strong experience designing, reviewing, and debugging embedded electronics. Deep understanding of schematic design, PCB layout, signal integrity, power electronics, and board-level debugging. Experience with microcontroller-based systems such as STM32, ARM Cortex-M, or similar platforms. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, JTAG/SWD, and other hardware debugging tools. Experience owning hardware through validation, manufacturing, and production. Comfortable collaborating across hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams. Strong communication skills and a practical, hands-on engineering mindset.
Bonus Points Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools. Experience designing high-speed or multi-layer PCBs. Experience with robotics, haptics, motor control, sensors, or mechatronic systems. Familiarity with USB, SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, or other embedded communication interfaces. Experience working with contract manufacturers and production test systems. Knowledge of embedded firmware development or Python scripting. Interest in Physical AI, teleoperation, robotics, or human-machine interfaces. Why You'll Love Working Here Build technology that's defining the future of Physical AI. Design hardware used by leading robotics and AI organizations around the world. Work alongside experts in hardware, firmware, robotics, AI, and mechanical engineering. Own products from first concept through production and customer deployment. Join a fast-growing, venture-backed company where your work has immediate impact. Help shape the hardware platform behind the next generation of human-machine interaction.
