Manufacturing Planner & Scheduler
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manufacturing Planner / ECN Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the accurate planning, creation, and maintenance of manufacturing job orders and engineering change processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Applications Engineering and Design Engineering teams (Electrical and Mechanical) to ensure customer orders are accurately entered into Syteline in accordance with approved submittal specifications. This position will also coordinate and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring timely communication, system updates, and cross-functional alignment throughout the change management process.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
- Entering sales orders into Syteline
- Creating and maintaining BOM structures for all orders
- Inputting estimated labor hours into the system
- Entering LLTI items into Syteline
- Validating submittal requirements against BOM structures
- Managing the ECN process, including expediting change notifications and updating databases to reflect current revisions
- Entering BOM changes into Syteline as part of the ECN process
- Releasing jobs and creating job orders in Syteline
- Creating and maintaining job packets in Syteline
- Entering short lead-time parts into Syteline BOMs, including handles, hinges, gaskets, fasteners, insulation, and other miscellaneous parts
- Liaising with the Finance department to confirm accurate costing on job orders
- Supporting cross-training initiatives with the Master Scheduler and Purchasing Agent
- Collaborating with multiple departments to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Previous experience with material planning and BOM structures in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using Syteline or a comparable ERP/MRP system
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and all levels of management
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and processes
- Experience implementing quality processes, procedures, and strategies
- A strong desire to work collaboratively with diverse teams while driving positive change within the organization
