QC Inspector - Welding (Weekday Night Shift)

Overview
Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.
This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.
This role will be offered to work Monday to Thursday (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and align with legislation and customer specification. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization’s quality assurance procedures and policies and identifying defects and/or production errors to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Level 1 CSA 178.2 W59/W47 endorsements for inspections is required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Daily inspection of in process units: ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and all other in process inspections are of high quality
- Daily inspection of paperwork for all in process units and report any deficiencies to Quality Supervisor
- Complete sub assembly inspections such as: motor, coil, evap., furnace, and paint
- Complete unit final inspections
- Review inspection documents and make unit packages
- Report any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety Coordinator
- Assist with education of other inspectors and production team members
- Inspect drawings and marking/breaking work and ensure it is correct
- Assist marking with Engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to Quality Supervisor
- Inspect all aspect of units with the appropriate forms from the beginning to the end and record all discrepancies
- Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos
- Inspect all welded carbon steel and aluminum parts to meet code
- Strong welding background
- Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Level 1 CSA 178.2 W59/W47 endorsements required
- 1-3 years of quality control experience in an organization that has an established quality program
- Some formal or practical exposure to quality control concepts
- Courses with a focus on quality control and quality systems
- Ability to read shop drawings
- Practical experience within a manufacturing environment
- Highly motivated, self-directed, detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage change on the floor and work well with shift supervisors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Working Conditions

- Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.
- Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
- Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
- Long periods of standing.
- Overtime as required.
