We are currently seeking an Engine Overhaul Technician to join our Red Deer team. This is a hands-on

shop role focused on the teardown, inspection, diagnosis, and rebuild of natural gas and diesel engines.

What you’ll be doing

Perform complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild of natural gas and diesel engines
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs on engines and related equipment
Clean, inspect, and refurbish engine components for reuse
Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools (CAT SIS, Cummins QuickServe, etc.)
Complete accurate service reports, warranty claims, and quality documentation
Maintain high workmanship and quality standards
Support apprentices and junior technicians through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe overhaul shop environment

What you bring

Minimum 3+ years of experience in power generation, gas compression, or related industries
Journeyperson certification (HET, Millwright, Automotive) preferred
3rd or 4th year apprentices may also be considered
Strong experience with engine overhauls, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience with OEM diagnostic software and tools
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
