About the role
Position Overview
The Crating is responsible for the final stage of the signage production process. This role ensures that all finished products are properly cleaned, protected, securely packaged, and documented to guarantee safe and efficient shipping. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
Finalizing Production, Cleaning & Protection
- Verify that all signage is complete and ready for packaging
- Thoroughly clean each sign to remove dust, debris, and fingerprints
- Apply protective materials to prevent scratches and surface damage
- Select appropriate packaging solutions (custom boxes, crates, etc.) based on size, material, and fragility
- Handle large or delicate signage with extreme care
Crating Process
- Build custom crates tailored to product dimensions and shipping requirements
- Take and store required photos:
- Finished signage in the shop
- Signage placed inside the crate
- Secured and closed crate
- Clearly label crates with handling instructions and special opening notes
Documentation & ERP Management
- Upload all crating and packing photos to the ERP system under the appropriate task
- Ensure all documents are complete, including:
- Shipping labels
- Order paperwork
- Crate contents documentation
Receiver Support & Damage Resolution
- Provide detailed documentation and photo evidence to receiving teams
- Assist with damage claims by supplying accurate crate and packaging records
Additional Duties
- Perform other related tasks as assigned

- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and maneuver large signage components safely.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / production plant environment.
- Requires prolonged standing, lifting, and use of tools and equipment.

Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience
- +1 year of experience in crating, packing, or woodworking.
