Could you be the full-time Installation Engineering Designer in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a transformative project. You’ll work alongside collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system by supporting the delivery of installation engineering activities for the On-Corridor Works project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, and construction, coordinate with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication, and contribute to the successful delivery of installation deliverables.
You’ll specifically take care of installation design, including method statements, drawings, and material specifications, but also manage site documentation such as red/yellow mark-ups and punch lists to ensure accuracy and compliance.
We’ll look to you for:
- Supporting engineering studies, including Bill of Installation Materials/Quantities, Method Statements, and Installation Materials Specification Requirements
- Assessing monthly progress and generating internal reports, including action plans and reviews
- Delivering installation engineering activities as per Alstom system requirements
- Managing installation design deliverables, including drawings, method statements, and "as built" configurations
- Creating and updating Installation BOQ as per project requirements
- Supervising first article inspections and obtaining end-user approvals
- Ensuring traceability to installation requirements and facilitating design coordination between BIM and Installation Design Teams
- Following up on deliverable schedules and submitting internal reports to the Design Lead

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- P. Eng certification in progress (desired)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and modifying 2D drawings
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical design (project and/or construction experience appreciated)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of railway products and services in different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M) (desirable)
- Familiarity with BIM procedures and tools (desirable)
- Ability to interpret and work with mechanical and electrical drawings for installation
- Strong communication skills and experience working in a unionized environment
- Physical ability to walk on uneven ground, carry tools, and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required by the project

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $70,000 – $85,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
