About the role
Based at Goldboro Gold Project in Goldboro, NS, we currently have an exciting opportunity for one (1) Site Services Coordinator to join our NexGold team.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Site Services Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of the Goldboro Gold Project properties, infrastructure, equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities: General: Prepare reports and/or briefs on company property, facilities/buildings, equipment, safety, or the progress of Site Services contracts. Monitor Site Services contracts, budgets, and spending specifically for running and maintaining property, buildings, equipment, and vehicles. Manage and monitor Site Services contractors, ensuring they are performing their required duties in a safe and efficient manner. Participate in site safety meetings, daily briefings, and other formal and informal meetings. Manage, administer, and coordinate with the Employee Accommodations Facility contractor to ensure that the contractor is meeting the requirements of its contract.
Site Services: Manage, administer, and coordinate the Site Services contractors. For any equipment that has been turned over to NexGold, ensure that appropriate preventative maintenance programs, compliant with equipment manufacturer requirements, are implemented. Report on the progress of Site Services activities. Collaborate closely with other members of the project team as well as construction contractors in coordinating Site Services activities. Respond to inquiries from the project management team and ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner. Assist with selecting Site Services contractors. Develop Purchase Requisitions for any Site Services work not addressed by the initial Site Services contracts and follow the procurement process for project purchases.
Maintenance of Property, Infrastructure, Equipment and Vehicles: Complete small maintenance and service projects, with support from site personnel or contractors as needed. Maintain the tracking system for all required maintenance on site equipment and vehicles (where care, custody and control sit with NexGold) and coordinate all required maintenance. Maintain clear communication with project team members responsible for operating company vehicles. Maintain maintenance records on all company owned or leased assets, monitoring vehicle inspection books. Monitor company property, buildings, equipment, and vehicles to ensure that health and safety precautions are being taken. Monitor all drainage ditching and culverts and ensure that the responsible Site Services contractor takes appropriate action to prevent water overflow, especially during storm events. Maintain upkeep on company owned or leased houses and apartments. Maintain clear communication with team members responsible for booking employees and visitors staying at company accommodations. Ensure that all fire protection equipment in any facilities turned over to NexGold are appropriately maintained, ensuring that regular inspections occur as per the National Fire Code of Canada and provincial regulations.
Site Safety: Be a coach, a mentor and attend toolbox meetings on a regular basis. In collaboration with safety advisors, develop relevant toolbox talks that are representative of the regular tasks of the workers. Ensure site maintenance and projects are completed in a safe manner. Participate in incident investigations where appropriate. Support the project management team with the review of health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with site, company, and government regulations and legislation. Work collaboratively with health & safety representatives, the Joint Health and Safety Committee, and/or the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration in support of workplace inspections and hazard recognition and control. Ensure resulting action items under the scope of Site Services are completed in a timely manner. Support the preparation of health and safety reports where applicable. Respond to Site Services work delays, incidents or other issues. In the event of an emergency, provide information and cooperation to the Project Management Team, Incident Commander, and/or local emergency services. Be familiar with and understand requirements of Site Services as they relate to the site Emergency Response Plan. Assist with site orientations and field check-in procedures. Coordinate company housing accommodations and cleaning contractors. Assist with training program coordination and track training documentation. Support the development of PPE programs, including tracking renewal eligibility and processing reimbursements. Support ad-hoc projects as required. Be a role model for safe work behaviours and actively participate in company and project health & safety programs.
Other: Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental responsibilities. Additional responsibilities or tasks as reasonably assigned.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) / Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) required Minimum of 10 years of maintenance, construction, or trades experience, or equivalent, required, including management and coordination of construction site services contracts and site-based employee accommodation facilities Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience required Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver’s license required Knowledge of relevant safety legislation and systems for industrial and construction settings Outstanding teamwork skills and ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams Superb time management and self motivation Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with little direction and/or within a team environment Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to forecast, analyze and work under pressure Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Patient, calm, and professional Strong business acumen and financially responsible to the benefit of the project
Preferred Qualifications: Maintenance, construction, and/or industrial-related diplomas or certificates are considered an asset Experience managing site services in a union environment is an asset Vehicles/equipment licenses in addition to a valid Nova Scotia Class 5 driver’s license are an asset
Role Details: Schedule: 14/14 Rotation with a Wednesday rotation start. Daily schedule 6:30am – 6:30pm including two 30-minute paid meal breaks. Work Arrangements: On-site Location: Goldboro Gold Project Department: Projects Number of Vacancies: 1 Employment Type: Full-time permanent Vacancy Nature: Existing Vacancy Wage Rate: Annual base salary $110,000-$116,600, dependent on incumbent's qualifications and experience. Eligible for discretionary short-term incentive programs. Benefits: Eligible for Company-paid group benefits package (health, dental, paramedical, vision, employee and dependent life insurance, AD&D, critical illness, and employee & family assistance program). Mandatory participation in group long-term disability (LTD) insurance program with employee-paid premiums. Retirement: Eligible for Company retirement savings program with company-match. Vacation: Access to paid vacation time from hire date. PPE: CSA-approved work boots are eligible for reimbursement by NexGold. All other PPE will be provided by the company on an as-needed basis. Housing: The incumbent will be provided with hotel, company housing, and/or camp accommodations while working on-site at Project location during 14/14 rotation. Travel: This is eligible for a travel allowance in accordance with NexGold’s travel-related policies and practices.
