Architectural Interiors Sales Support Specialist
About the role
What is this position responsible for?
The Architectural Interiors Sales Support Specialist is responsible for the supporting Architectural Interiors Sales in the growth of the Architectural Interiors business by providing technical, specification, process and project support.
Sales Support
- In conjunction with the AI sales support manager, interact with the AI division on technical, product, specification, project and sales support.
- Work closely with Teknion Sales in the support of architectural opportunities to achieve regional sales goals.
- Assist Teknion Sales with the gathering of information and the communication of schedules required to support an assigned Architectural AI project.
- Act as budget quotation resource for Teknion Sales, to support and train on the use of this tool.
- Act as a technical support and provide product guidance and solutions/expertise for the response to AI RFP’s and other major opportunities within Teknion Sales
- As requested, work with internal resources on direct AI projects by Teknion
- Creation and maintenance of AI product related client MSA documents/packages.
- Creation and maintenance of AI related sales tools/documents
Project Support
- Act as a product expert and support Teknion Sales on complex Architectural Interiors projects, as required.
- Reviews installation plans for special conditions, including site checks, as required for for all Teknion direct projects (mockups, showrooms, tradeshows, client)
- Coordinates renderings and mock-ups as necessary.
- Attends project/construction meetings as directed, on Teknion direct projects
- Provides product application solutions, conferring with the AI Sales Support Specialist Manager and the specials team.
- As directed, liaises with Teknion Sales to discuss requirements, create specials and have drawings/specifications prepared, as required.
- Work with Teknion Sales in the creation of the project milestone schedule for all Teknion direct projects(mockups, showrooms, tradeshows, client)
- Assist Teknion Sales in liaising internally on project lead-times, mockups, specials and deficiencies for all Teknion direct projects (mockups, showrooms, tradeshows, client)
Technical Support
- Understand and interpret the base building interface requirements as drawn on a base building plan including but not limited to elevations, door/hardware/finish schedules, specifications, reflected ceiling and electrical plans, etc.
- Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings; identify potential issues and suggest product and/or process alternatives to resolve.
- Act as a technical resource for Teknion Sales to assist with advanced knowledge of technical aspects of Architectural Interiors.
- Collaborate internally with Teknion engineering and design to cover off all project requirements, presale.
What are the preferred Qualifications/Education for this role?

Post secondary education with a degree or diploma in Architectural Technology or Interior Design.

Minimum 3-5 years related experience

Working knowledge of the interior construction industry is essential.

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Proficient in AutoCAD, CET and other related software

A proven ability to read, interpret and understand architectural drawings and transcribe site conditions

Must be comfortable working both independently as well as within a team environment.

Background in customer service would be an asset.

Strong presentation and organizational skills with an attention to detail and ability to multitask with extremely tight timelines.

Project management and time management skills required.

Excellent communication (both written and verbal).

Must have flexibility to travel as required

Valid Drivers license
The expected base salary range for this position will be $65, 000.00 - $82,050.00 Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
